Module 1: Decreasing Distress and Strong Emotions
IN THIS LESSON
This coping skills log will help you in several ways:
1. You will learn your triggers so that you can heal those triggers and the underlying core wound in future lessons or in therapy.
2. It will help you discover patterns in the way you think, feel, and behave.
3. If you pull out your tracking sheet each time you start to feel an emotion or have an urge to engage in an unhelpful behavior, it prompts you to use a skill and has reminders of what skills to use.
4. The skill of Counterstatements is worked into the log, so you can start using skills as you track. Remember that your counterstatements should be true and believable but more helpful than the original thought.
